Jesse and Genesis Parker have been married for over 12 years, spend most of every day with each other while enjoying life, the ministry calling, and their fur baby, Lilo, a mini schnauzer with a very decidedly non-mini personality.
Jesse and Genesis grew up in the streets, playfields, and churches of South Seattle, both had their true salvation moments at summer camps in their teen years, and have always maintained a heart for the Puget Sound region.
Jesse graduated from Franklin High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Seattle University and then pursued his dream of becoming a lawyer at the Seattle University School of Law. During his second year in Law School, Jesse heard the call of God to ministry, dropped out of Law School, and has been pursuing that call ever since.
Genesis graduated from Cleveland High School, earning a Gates Foundation Scholarship and planning to become a pediatrician, but before she could enroll in school she suffered the loss of her grandmother, who had raised her. She let school take a back seat and began to work to help support herself and her family while pursuing the ministry calling that her grandmother had always told her was there. She is currently earning a Degree in Biblical Studies from S.U.M. Bible College and Seminary.
Jesse operates in the gift and calling of a Teacher, with a Prophetic edge. His passion is to make the Bible, God, and the Gospel accessible to every person, to challenge both individuals and the Church as a whole to powerful and meaningful discipleship. He has always had a heart of reform in the Body of Christ and seeks to speak God’s truth in love to bring life change to the individual and organizational reform to the Church.
Genesis operates in the gift and calling of a Pastor and Apostle. She loves people and loves to walk through life and faith with them. She is passionate about meeting the felt needs of individuals and her community. Genesis is also a worshipper, who brings a powerful and soulful voice, spiritual sensitivity, and an emotional vulnerability to any praise & worship environment.
Jesse and Genesis were pastors at Living Hope, a Free Methodist church, in Renton from 2017-2019, and then pastored at City View Church, a non-denominational church, in Renton from 2019-2021. In 2021, they felt God lead them to step out of the established American church model and to pursue God’s call on them to build Tribe Church NW, a ministry inspired and modeled after the early home church communities of the New Testament.
